Snippet Generator Access

I am trying to access the snippet generator that is referred to in the html Sharepoint Foundation layouts ( "To build the page layout directly from this HTML file, simply fill in the contents of content placeholders. Use the Snippet Generator at http://pmsp2013cpdev1.cld.sr/sites/codeplex-foundation/_layouts/15/ComponentHome.aspx?Url=http%3A%2F%2Fpmsp2013cpdev1%2Ecld%2Esr%2Fsites%2Fcodeplex%2Dfoundation%2F%5Fcatalogs%2Fmasterpage%2Ffoundation%2Fbanded%2Easpx to create and customize additional content placeholders and other useful SharePoint entities, then copy and paste them as HTML snippets into your HTML code.") but when you try to access the site it prompts for a username and password. Anybody have any ideas. I tried my codeplex login information but that did not work.

Hi Flashking,

Sorry about that, the url is wrong. That is a dev environment we use. Please change "http://pmsp2013cpdev1.cld.sr/sites/codeplex-foundation" to the url/path to your site collection.

Or better yet, navigation to the Design Manager (found in the Settings dropdown) and then click on 6. Edit Page Layouts. Now click on the page layout you wish to modify. This page layout will load in the Page Layout Previewer. You will find the proper link to your Snippet Gallery in the upper right corner of the page layout preview.

I suggest using the link to the Snippet Gallery from the particular page layout you are going to edit because then the "Page Fields" snippets will actually list the content type columns available to that particular page layout.
